Motion Design is Essential
DesignThinkers 2023: I was seated a few rows back from the stage for Rajane Dal Bello's talk–and I could barely pay attention.
Not because her keynote wasn't great, but because I kept thinking to myself "I need to learn motion design, stat."
During the entire summit, I was inundated with some of the best motion design work I'd seen in a long time (which makes sense, since it *is* DesignThinkers of all places).
What it made me realize, very quickly, is that if any studio or agency is to be competitive with the rest of the landscape – in both business and creative – motion design was no longer just a nice to have.
It was an essential.
The same thing goes for great 3D work, as well.
“Motion design is essential to brand strategy.”
It's no secret: in the digital age, companies, agencies, and creatives are all fighting for audience attention to drive conversions, engagement, and revenue. Plain and simple, static content is no longer enough.
And it hasn't been for quite some time.
Modern brands and the clients we work with include motion design as an essential part of their Brand Guidelines and Strategy, working in cohesion with the rest of their brand elements to create a dynamic identity.
Here's some quick stats for you around motion design:
Video, of any kind, generates 1200% more shares than just static images and text combined
90% of the information transmitted to the brain is visual information, and movement attracts attention more than a static image
